FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is a group purchasing organization?

A group purchasing organization pools the buying of many organizations and contracts on their behalf. The pool's volume wins pricing and terms no single practice could reach alone. Members buy through the contracts, and the GPO manages the agreements.

What does it cost to join One Harbor Alliance?

Nothing. Joining costs nothing, and participation is voluntary at every level. You sign one membership agreement and decide for yourself what to use.

Do I have to change my distributor or my ordering process?

No. Most members keep the distributor and the ordering process they already use. Contract pricing attaches to accounts you already have, so the change shows up on the invoice, not in your workflow.

Can independent practices in my ACO join even though I do not own them?

Yes. Membership is open to the practices in your network even though you do not own them. Each practice signs its own agreement and decides for itself. No practice is required to take part because its parent organization joined.

Am I required to buy through the GPO once I sign?

No. There is no purchasing requirement. You use the contracts where they make sense for you and leave the rest alone.

Can I leave, and how?

Yes. Any practice or organization may withdraw on notice, without penalty, on the terms set out in its agreement. You tell us, and we close it out.

How does One Harbor get paid?

Members pay nothing to join and nothing to take part. One Harbor is funded on the supplier side of the contracts, not by the organizations that buy through them.

What is the difference between One Harbor Purchasing and One Harbor Performance?

One Harbor Purchasing is the supply chain side: national contracts, distribution pricing, vaccines, and business services. One Harbor Performance is the clinical bench: programs selected for how they perform under risk, organized by what they fix. One membership agreement reaches both.

Who is eligible: ACOs, MSOs, CINs, FQHCs, independent practices?

Yes, all of them. One Harbor contracts on behalf of ACOs, MSOs, CINs, FQHCs, and independent physician practices. If your organization carries cost or quality risk, you are who this is built for.

How long does it take before I see contract pricing?

Contract access turns on once your agreement is signed and your accounts are connected to the national rails. We do that setup with you, and we will tell you what to expect for your organization before you sign anything.
